Martin Kern to Give Distinguished Lecture Series at Chinese University of Hong Kong

Martin Kern (East Asian Studies) will present the 35th Ch’ien Mu Lectures in History and Culture, which will be held on February 28 – March 2, 2024, at the Chinese University of Hong Kong’s New Asia College. Established in 1978, the Ch’ien Mu public lectures invite a distinguished scholar to explore topics related to Chinese history and culture.

A member of the Humanities Council’s Executive Committee, Kern also directed the University-wide collaboration “Comparative Antiquity,” a Council Global Initiative, from 2018-2022.  Kern specializes in the textual culture of Chinese antiquity, and his research addresses topics across genres of ancient Chinese literature.
