Humanities Council’s Global Initiatives are ambitious multi-year research and teaching collaborations that are developing new networks in South East Asia, Africa, Europe, China, Russia and Eastern Europe, and North and South America.

Comparative Antiquity

A three-year, multifaceted collaboration to foster research and teaching in pursuit of a new paradigm toward the study of “global antiquity.”

LUDUS

A three-year project to develop an interdisciplinary working group devoted to the study of the Middle Ages in its live, plastic, and time-bound dimensions.

Racing the Classics

A two-day working conference dedicated to using and developing critical theories of race and ethnicity in all aspects of the field.

Exploratory Grants

Grants spark new collaborations at Princeton and beyond, building scholarly networks across the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Breakthrough Seminars

The Council's Breakthrough Seminars move outside the traditional classroom setting to include experiential or field components.
