Keeanga‑Yamahtta Taylor joins Jelani Cobb for a timely discussion of his newest book, Three Or More Is a Riot: Notes on How We Got Here: 2012–2025. In this sharp and urgent collection, Cobb traces the tumultuous decade that began with the killing of Trayvon Martin and the rise of Black Lives Matter and extends through movements around guns, gender violence, sexual harassment, race, and policing—alongside the fierce backlash that helped fuel the ascent of the MAGA era.

Drawing from his reporting for The New Yorker, Cobb brings readers to the front lines of protest, conflict, and political transformation. His work blends narrative journalism, cultural criticism, and vivid profiles to illuminate the forces reshaping American life. With new retrospective essays that connect and contextualize these dispatches, the book offers a sweeping, cohesive account of one of the most consequential periods in recent U.S. history—and a guide to understanding what may lie ahead.

Together, Taylor and Cobb will explore the crises, movements, and cultural shifts that define this era, and the insights his reporting offers for navigating the present moment.
