Program in Translation and Intercultural Communication

Building on D. Gutas’ idea of “complex of translations” this talk will show through a hands-on approach the dynamic at work in the translation and transmission of Greek philosophical and scientific texts into Arabic and the creative process to which the translations were exposed once they started circulating.
