History pushed critical philosophy down an epistemological path that was productive, but distanced it from its true ambition: to change the world. It is time to return to that ambition and leave behind the will to truth.

Bernard E. Harcourt is a contemporary critical theorist, social justice advocate, and the author most recently of The Counterrevolution: How Our Government Went to War Against Its Own Citizens (Basic Books, 2018). He is the Isidor and Seville Sulzbacher Professor of Law and Professor of Political Science at Columbia University.
