Pulitzer Prize winner and National Humanities Medal recipient Isabel Wilkerson is the author of The New York Times bestseller and National Book Critics Circle Award winner The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration. A gifted storyteller, Wilkerson captivates audiences with the universal human story of migration and reinvention, as well as the enduring search for the American dream.

Wilkerson won the Pulitzer Prize in 1994 for her work as Chicago bureau chief for The New York Times, making her the first black woman in the history of American journalism to win a Pulitzer Prize and the first African-American to win for individual reporting in the history of American journalism. She later taught narrative nonfiction at Princeton as a Ferris Professor of Journalism.
