May 4, 2019 · 9:00 am—6:00 pm · 399 Julis Romo Rabinowitz Building
Humanities Council's David A. Gardner '69 Magic Project, Department of Religion
The Ties that Divide Us, supported by the Humanities Council’s David A. Gardner ’69 Magic Project fund, was conceived to bring together thinkers, artists, activists, scholars, and educators across disciplinary and vocational divides to re-imagine the boundaries and definitions of education, social justice, community, and university. Organized by four members of a Buffalo-Princeton collective called Third Space, The Ties that Divide Us is the first of two planned conferences, the second to be held in Buffalo, NY. Third Space is made up of scholars, educators, and activists who are committed to bridging gaps and creating spaces of safe and productive tension in the realms of education and social justice.
