The Eco-History of Print: Dürer’s Woodblocks ∙ Robert Janson-La Palme *76 Lecture
Susan Dackerman, Robert Janson-La Palme *76 Visiting Professor, Art & Archaeology
Thu, 4/17 · 5:00 pm—6:00 pm · A71 Louis A. Simpson Building
Department of Art & Archaeology
The talk is part of a book project that explores the history of printing through its matrices, as well as the related history of the natural environment that engendered the possibilities of making multiple representations of text and images. An underlying assumption of the project is that art-making materials and practices, including the production and use of woodblocks, are linked to contemporary conceptions and theories of nature.
