The Dynamic Effects of Trade Liberalization: The Case of Latin America

Program in Latin American Studies

This lecture will discuss novel methods to quantify the dynamic gains from trade liberalization. Using this methodology it will explore the implications of the potential formation of a Free Trade Agreement between Latin American countries that lowers tariffs uniformly by 35% and how such a policy could impact different regions of Latin America immediately and in the future.
