Nelly Lahoud, New America’s International Security Program

Lahoud is a Senior Fellow at New America’s International Security Program and is writing a book about the internal communications that were recovered by U.S. Special Forces from Usama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad.

Lahoud’s research has focused on the ideology and evolution of al-Qaeda and the Islamic State. She has also published on women’s role in al-Qaeda and the Islamic State and the use of anashid by these two groups in their media output.
