Only in Naples is the story of the author’s journey to the heart of Neapolitan life. Through courtship, culture clashes, and most of all the preparation and consumption of food with her mother-in-law, American-born Katherine Wilson learns to embrace the Neapolitan approach to life. Goethe said: See Naples and die. Katherine Wilson saw Naples and started to live.

Katherine Wilson is a author, actress and television commentator living in Italy. Her memoir Only in Naples, which was published by Random House in the US and seven other countries to critical acclaim, takes readers to the heart of Neapolitan life, and uses gastronomy and dialect to interpret a contemporary Southern Italian worldview.
