This afternoon symposium brings together leading practitioners of historical performance with scholars working at the interface between music and the literary arts in early modern Europe. The symposium is structured around a recent project by the acclaimed UK-based viol consort, Fretwork, to record the complete verse anthems of 17th-century English composer Orlando Gibbons.
