L’Avant-Scène Presents “On ne badine pas avec l’amour” by Alfred de Musset

The Troupe of Princeton University’s Department of French and Italian, L’Avant-Scène, the French Theater Workshop, will stream its first-ever virtual production: Alfred de Musset’s popular “On ne badine pas avec l’amour” (1834) directed by Florent Masse from 7 pm, October 22 until Sunday, October 25, 2020, midnight.

This will be L’Avant-Scène’s first online play as part of its 2020-2021 virtual season. “On ne badine pas avec l’amour” is one of Musset’s most beloved plays. It tells the complex love story of Camille, 18, and Perdican 21, who reunite after ten years in the estate of Le Baron, Perdican’s father. The pastoral love comedy soon veers in tragedy… The production will feature Morgan Teman 23, Peter Foster 21, Nicholas Shashkini 21, Jason Qu 21, Flora Champy FIT, Gavin LaPlace 23, and Swas Goel.
