Anthony Appiah, philosopher, cultural theorist, and novelist, will discuss his recent book, The Lies That Bind: Rethinking Identity, a Washington Post Notable Book of the Year, and incandescent exploration of the nature and history of the identities that define us. Appiah was the Laurance S. Rockefeller University Professor of Philosophy at Princeton University before joining NYU’s department of philosophy and school of law.
