The Mellon Forum for Research on the Urban Environment welcomes Cyrus Schayegh (Princeton University).
Cyrus Schayegh is Associate Professor of modern Middle Eastern history at Princeton University. His forthcoming book, Transnationalization: A History of the Modern Middle East, examines how in the Middle East, cities, their ties, and regions inter-played with new nation-states and empires from the mid-19th to the mid-20th century. Schayegh earned his PhD in Middle Eastern and Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University in 2004.
