Department of African American Studies

This daylong symposium brings together leading scholars, writers, and cultural critics to examine the state of Black Studies, art, and political thought amid heightened social and institutional crisis. Through three dynamic panels, participants will explore the intersections of white supremacy, Black intellectual traditions, cultural production, and the evolving meaning of racism in the aftermath of Critical Race Theory and DEI debates. We will feature nationally recognized voices from universities, cultural institutions, and public scholarship, and the event is open to all with free registration.
