Mon, 3/28 · 7:00 pm9:00 pm EDT · Wallace Hall, Stokes Library

University Center for Human Values

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Best VR Work at the 78th Venice International Film Festival, Goliath: Playing with Reality, explores the limits of reality, the weight of mental illness, and the supportive power of gaming communities. It tells the true story of Jon, a man diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, through a deft combination of highly stylized low-poly animation, artful narration by Tilda Swinton, and the sense of immersion that only VR can deliver. (10 min.)

The spring season of the Film Forum is dedicated to immersive films. PU ID-holders can register for our Monday events of synchronized headset-viewing of six award-winning VR films. The audience will be able to experience the short virtual reality films in groups of ten at the same time from 7 PM to 9 PM. Discussion with a student and faculty panel will follow the VR experience from 9 PM.
