Alex Gil is senior Lecturer II and Associate Research Faculty of Digital Humanities in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Yale University. Gil is the translator and editor of And the Dogs Were Silent/…… Et les chiens se taisaient, a newly discovered manuscript by Aimé Césaire. At this event, he will be discussing with Nick Nesbitt his manuscript discovery, its translation, and the importance of this discovery for Postcolonial Francophone Caribbean Studies.
