Program in African Studies

A book forum on three recent and forthcoming books in African feminisms and queer politics. The conversation will feature Naminata Diabate (Cornell) author of Naked Agency: Genital Cursing and Biopolitics in Africa (Duke University Press, 2020) Oluwakemi Balogun (University of Oregon) author of Beauty Diplomacy: Embodying an Emerging Nation (Stanford University Press, 2020), and S.N. Nyeck, author of the forthcoming Queer African(a) Presence: Ethics and Politics of Negotiation.

The event will feature presentations from the authors and a 30 minute Q & A.
