Keller Center Awards Humanities and Social Sciences Research at Innovation Forum

November 2, 2025

The Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education announced the winners of the 2025 Innovation Forum. The event, held on October 22, 2025, showcased STEM, humanities, and social sciences research and “spotlighted remarkable advancement emerging from Princeton,” according to the award announcement.

First place in the Humanities and Social Sciences Division was awarded to Allison Carruth (Effron Center and HMEI) and Barron Bixler (Effron Center) for Blue Lab. The project, a “climate media studio,” harnesses creative tools to bridge the gap between cutting-edge environmental science research and everyday storytelling. Blue Lab previously received support from the Humanities Council as part of a Collaborative Humanities grant in 2023-24.

Research Specialist Lorae Stojanovic (Sociology) was awarded second place in the Humanities and Social Sciences Division, for Princeton Free Food: A Scalable, Real-Time Community Platform. The AI-powered tool helps communities respond to food insecurity with data-driven interventions.

The Innovation Forum is hosted by the Keller Center and is co-sponsored by the Humanities Council and the Office of Technology Licensing.
