Emanuele Coccia is a philosopher, playwright, curator, and an Associate Professor at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris. He has served as a visiting professor at Harvard University, Columbia University, and New York University. Recent books he has authored include Philosophy of the Home: Domestic Space and Happiness (2024), in which Coccia reveals how the architecture of the home has shaped and continues to shape our psyches and our societies; Lettres sur la lumière (2024), a philosophical epistolary on light with photographer Paolo Roversi; and The Life of Forms—Theory of the Re-enchantment (2024), a book on the relationship between fashion and philosophy with Valentino’s creative director Alessandro Michele.

Beyond his writing and teaching, Coccia has produced and co-directed animated videos, including 2022’s Portal of Mysteries with Dotdotdot, which opened the 23rd International Exhibition of the Triennale Milano. He was also the 2024 recipient of The Mondrian Prize awarded annually to an internationally recognized professional active in the arts. For the 2025 La Biennale di Venezia, Coccia collaborated with François Roche on an installation titled “(n)Permanencies Tractatus.”
