Please join us for the screening of the documentary film, 1923 Kanto Massacre (2024), on Wednesday, April 9 at Betts Auditorium. The South Korean film explores the course of historical events leading up to the massacre of Koreans after the Great Kanto Earthquake in Japan in 1923 and delivers a critical indictment of the world’s failure to confront this history. We plan to have the creative producer, Dr. Jinhee Lee, Professor of History at East Illinois University, join us after the screening for a short Q&A session.
