VISCERA::POETICS, a sense::archive workshop with artist Ziba Rajabi
Wed, 4/9 · 7:00 pm—9:00 pm · PUL Makerspace, A Level of Lewis Science Library
Humanities Council Working Group

VISCERA::POETICS is the next installation of the::sense::archive Humanities Council Working Group. The first event of Ziba Rajabi’s sense::archivist residency will be an artist-led workshop held on April 9 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the MakerSpace + Collab Hub, in the Lewis Science Library, A Level, with dinner available for participants at 6:30pm in the Collab Hub.
Tehran-born, Minneapolis-based artist Ziba Rajabi will lead participants through a multi-sensory, participatory “non-verbal poetry” workshop. Instead of words, we will use visual and tactile materials to compose visual poems. Ziba will provide participants with a rich visual dictionary consisting of pre-cut shapes, colors, sizes, textures, and materials. Ziba is a painter focusing primarily on site-specific installations, textiles, and reimaginations of digital mediation in contemporary life. Please RSVP to the.sense.archive.team@gmail.com.
the::sense::archive was founded by Monica Huerta, assistant professor of English and American Studies at Princeton and Ava Shirazi, assistant professor of Classics and visual culture, arts, and media (VCAM) faculty fellow at Haverford College.
the::sense::archive is supported by a 2024 Humanities Council special grant with additional support from the Center for Human Values, the Effron Center, and the English Department.
