Natasha Wheatley (History) and Anna Arabindan-Kesson (Art & Archaeology, African American Studies) have been named among the recipients of Graduate Mentoring Awards by the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning. The award recognizes excellence in mentoring and winners are nominated and partly selected by graduate students.
Wheatley is assistant professor of history and scholar of modern European and international history. Wheatley’s students commended her for building community among students, as well as the detailed comments she provided on their work.
Arabindan-Kesson is assistant professor of art and archaeology and African American studies. She is a scholar of Black Diasporic art, with an emphasis on histories of race, empire, and medicine. Her students praised her supportiveness during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and her passion for mentorship.
