Since launching the Faculty Bookshelf in late August 2020, the Humanities Council has also initiated a Q&A series to give faculty the opportunity to describe their creative process, the root of their inspiration for a particular project, and the transformation that happens in the course of multi-year research and composition. While these Q&As have typically highlighted newly released books in their month of publication, the Council wanted to look back at all of the wonderful projects from early 2020 that predated the series. For the coming months, the Q&A series will be offering retrospective insight on books published last year as well a new titles being released this spring and summer.
The first collection of these retrospective Q&As showcase The Ruins Lesson by Susan Stewart (English), What Happens When We Practice Religion? by Robert Wuthnow (Sociology), and Mark My Words by Lee Mitchell (English).
