A new series from McCarter Theater, “Scholars Insights,” brings audiences behind the curtain with dynamic pre-show conversations between world-class artists and Princeton University faculty. Launched on Friday, September 26, the series debuted in the theater’s lobby-lounge before a performance of “I AM,” with a talk between Davalois Fearon (Dance, Lewis Center for the Arts) and Mora-Amina Parker, rehearsal director for Camille A. Brown & Dancers. After the discussion, students, community members, and patrons were given an opportunity to engage with the artists during an open Q&A session.
“Scholar’s Insights” continues throughout McCarter’s season with pre-show talks before upcoming classical music and dance performances. The next event will be held on November 5 before violinist Kyung Wha Chung.
The “Scholars Insights” series is curated in partnership with the Lewis Center for the Arts’ Program in Dance and the Department of Music. The program is part of Arts & Ideas, a partnership between McCarter and the Humanities Council.
