Research Spotlight with Kyle Masson: Bringing Early Opera to Life

August 1, 2019

Kyle Masson, a graduate student in music, traveled to Italy to see a score by Antonio Cesti, one of only four surviving manuscripts of “L’Argia” and one that included a unique prologue that hasn’t been addressed by scholarship in the field. Additional research on Cesti was conducted in Austria with support from the Program in European Cultural Studies, the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies, and the American Musicological Society.

Watch the University homepage video of Masson’s research trip.
