Janet Kay, Cotsen Postdoctoral Fellow in the Society of Fellows and Lecturer in the Humanities Council, taught a course entitled “The Vikings: History and Archaeology,” which examines Norse culture and society in Scandinavia and abroad and how Viking raids and settlement affected the British Isles and Northern Europe. Students gained insight into the Viking Age through the study of archeology and material culture, and replicating items the Norse would have used in daily life.
