Behrman Undergraduate Society of Fellows

The Undergraduate Society of Fellows consists of two dozen juniors and seniors who are committed to the study of humanistic inquiry. We meet formally once a month during term to discuss and debate matters of common interest in the company of a few members of the faculty and distinguished guests. Additional events are scheduled throughout the year.

The Director of the Society is P. Adams Sitney (Visual Arts); the Associate Director is Ron Wilson (Comparative Literature).

Guests have included President Shirley Tilghman and Professors Bill Bialek (Physics), Michael Cook (Near Eastern Studies), Rubén Gallo (Spanish & Portuguese Languages and Cultures), Bill Gleason (English), Constanze Güthenke (Classics and Hellenic Studies), and Gideon Rosen (Philosophy and Council of the Humanities), as well as Professors Ann Blair (History, Harvard University) and Thomas Laqueur (History, University of California at Berkeley).
