Wendy Warren specializes in the history of colonial North America and the early modern Atlantic World.  She is currently writing The Carceral Colony, an exploration of the role of prisons in the colonization of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century North America.

Her teaching interests include colonial and revolutionary North America, Native American history, comparative slavery, comparative colonialism, critical prison studies, gender and sexuality studies, and women’s history.
