Kimbriell Kelly is deputy editor of enterprise and investigations in the Los Angeles Times’ Washington bureau. Formerly an investigative reporter at The Washington Post, Kelly has 20 years’ experience as a journalist, editor, and publisher. A 2019 Pulitzer Prize finalist, she also was part of the team that launched The Posts “Fatal Force” series on police-involved shootings, which won the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in 2016. She is a sought-after expert on public-records requests, research, and data analysis, and previously worked for The Chicago Reporter and The Daily Herald.

Kelly is a visiting Ferris Professor of Journalism in the Program in Journalism in Spring 2020.
