DESCRIPTION:This talk traces the role of contemporary Iranian art\, its production\, its institutions\, and its politics.  Through the three categories of historicity\, marketability\, and mobility\, Talinn Grigor (UC Davis) reconsiders the definitions of ‘contemporary’ and ‘art’ in its global context.
