SUMMARY:Thracian Rock Monuments: the cult complex at Gluhite Kamani in SE Bulgaria
DESCRIPTION:AIA Ettinghausen Lecture\n\nThe Thracians were the dominant ethnic group in southeastern Europe during the first millennium BCE. Much of what we know about them comes from their contacts with the Greeks. However\, many aspects of Thracian culture remain obscure\, including their cult practices. This lecture discusses several Thracian cult sites in the Rhodope Mountains in southeastern Bulgaria\, with special emphasis on the rock-cut complex at Gluhite Kamani\, and examines their role in Thracian cult.
