SUMMARY:The Codex Mendoza and the Study of Mexican Indigenous Manuscripts as Books and Media
DESCRIPTION:This seminar is part of the Committee for the Study of Books & Media series. \nFor more than half a century\, Princeton has been a center for the historical study of books\, media and their readers. The Committee for the Study of Books and Media (CSBM) gives scholars and students from many disciplines a forum where they can follow new developments in this vital\, interdisciplinary field. Its workshop brings eminent senior scholars and brilliant young ones to campus so that Princeton graduate students can meet them and discuss their current work. In its master classes\, field leaders give vivid\, hands-on demonstrations of their analytical methods\, using manuscripts\, books\, and other media from Princeton University Library’s department of Rare Books and Special Collections. \nFor the 2020-21 academic year\, CSBM will be coordinated by Jin-Woo Choi (Fall) and Anna Speyart van Woerden and Professors Anthony Grafton and Nigel Smith. \nThis seminar will be held virtually via Zoom. Registration is required. To register\, visit:\nhttps://princeton.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJErd-qqrzssGtKpQoAK8J-PUQWHVg8lrjbM \nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing a unique link to join the meeting. If there is a pre-circulated paper\, it will be distributed to those who registered approximately one-week prior to the workshop.
