DESCRIPTION:Peter Singer wrote The Life You Can Save to show that our current response to world poverty is not only insufficient but ethically indefensible. On the 10th anniversary of the publication of this hugely influential book\, Singer talks about the fight against poverty\, which has become only more urgent over the last decade. \nFor the first time in history\, eradicating world poverty is within our reach. Yet around the world\, some 700 million people struggle to live each day on less than many of us pay for a bottle of water. In The Life You Can Save\, Peter uses ethical arguments\, illuminating examples\, and case studies of charitable giving to make a highly compelling case for why and how each of us can have meaningful impact on improving lives of those living in extreme poverty worldwide. The Life You Can Save teaches us to be a part of the solution by helping others\, which as the book demonstrates benefits ourselves as well in multiple ways.
