Journalism Lunch Talk | Ever-Blooming Orchids and Enduring Lies: Writing as Confession and Hope
Thu, 11/12 · 12:00 pm—1:15 pm · 16 Joseph Henry House
Humanities Council's Program in Journalism
In his late 30s, journalist Jeff Chu (Travel + Leisure) left his job to go to grad school, where he became a hapless, unskilled farmhand. In conversation with Program Director Eliza Griswold (Journalism), Chu discusses his memoir Good Soil and what working the land—as well as writing about it—taught him about himself, his relationships, his faith, and the natural world.
This interdisciplinary lunch talk is presented by the Program in Journalism. These talks offer insight into the work of our distinguished visiting journalists, as they discuss their work and pressing issues of the day with University faculty from across disciplines.
Lunch talks are open to University faculty, students, and staff. Space is limited.
*Please note, RSVP form requires University credentials.
