DESCRIPTION:Concert is free and open to the public \nJacques Schwarz-Bart is a recording artist with seven albums to his name\, as well as a composer and educator. His collaborations include work with Roy Hargrove\, Danilo Pérez\, John Scofield\, Erykah Badu\, and many others. In 2005\, he released his first project as a leader\, Sone Ka-La\, which revisits his native Guadeloupean music through the prism of jazz and won worldwide critical acclaim. His latest release\, Jazz Racine Haiti\, made him an ambassador for a school of modern jazz rooted in voodoo music. He teaches at The Berklee College of Music while keeping up a steady touring schedule. \nCo-sponsored by the Humanities Council\, Department of Comparative Literature\, Department of Spanish and Portuguese and the Department of Music.
