Earth Shed Workshop: How to Build from the Ground Up

Fri, 10/9 · 12:00 pm—2:30 pm · North Gallery, School of Architecture

School of Architecture

Part workshop and part collective construction, How To Build From The Ground Up—taking place Friday, October 9 from 12 to 2:30PM—invites Princeton University students, faculty, and staff to contribute to the ongoing construction of Earth Shed. An installation and distributed building practice designed and organized by Professor Erin Besler, Earth Shed takes shape over time through the hands of many.

Learn to make compressed earth blocks and get to know the soil through activities of mixing, ramming, and stacking. Here, building is a shared activity where things are learned, demonstrated, passed between people, and figured out along the way. No previous building experience is necessary. Come learn a technique, lend a hand, or stay for the afternoon. Food and drinks will be provided. RSVP required.
