Acting Council Chair Discusses History of Indoctrination in Florida Schools

Tera W. Hunter (History, African American Studies), acting chair of the Humanities Council, wrote about her experience as a high school student in Florida in an article featured in The Nation.

The piece, titled “The Long History of Conservative Indoctrination in Florida Schools,” was published February 27, 2023.

Hunter is the Edwards Professor of American History and professor of African American studies. Her research focuses on gender, race, labor, and Southern histories.
