Ermolaev, Foremost Scholar of Soviet Literature, Dies at 94

Herman Ermolaev, Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures, emeritus, whose world-renowned scholarship of the Soviet Union was informed by his early-life experiences at the hands of the Nazis and Soviets, died Jan. 6. He was 94.
